I grew up in North Carolina and Arkansas. I received my B.A. degree in Philosophy from Hendrix College and my M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Philosophy from Tulane University. I teach philosophy at Boston University. I previously taught at the University of Utah (2004-2016), and was Visiting Researcher at Temple University. When I'm not teaching and writing philosophy, I enjoy experimenting in the kitchen, reading history and literature, and traveling with my wife.
